Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It's almost that time of year - the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is just a few days away! This is the best sale of the year and one that I'm so excited to be sharing with you today. 

If you didn't already know, I absolutely love Nordstrom - the great selection of so many items, the can't-be-beat shipping and returns policy, the price-matching, and the people there are some of the nicest, most helpful you'll ever meet. Another huge perk - the Anniversary Sale that comes around each July!

The sale only lasts a few weeks each year, but it discounts tons of brand new fall and winter arrivals at prices up to 40% off. Women's clothing, men's clothing, stuff for kids, babies, home, beauty - every department is filled with outstanding deals. Below are a few of my top tips for shopping the sale this year for some great new pieces to kick off the upcoming season.

1. Early Access

By being a Nordstrom cardholder (credit or debit), you get access to the sale 8 days before everyone else, starting July 13th, 2017 and closing July 20th, 2017. The regular sale opens to the public on July 21st, 2017 with prices going back up on August 6th, 2017. This can be really helpful if there are a few key items that you're looking to get. The sale is so popular that many items will sell out fast. Last year, 4 items sold out within the first 4 hours of early access!

2. Game Plan

If you know that you're looking for a great coat, pair of booties, or a new handbag - start there first. Things sell out quick ↑ and usually once they're gone, they're gone for good. 

3. Add it to your Cart, Decide Later

When in doubt, go ahead and add it to your cart. This way you can quickly scan through the cart if you're still trying to decide rather than having to scroll through the whole category for something.

4. Return Policy

If you aren't familiar with the Nordstrom return policy, please let me introduce you. Everything is handled on a case-by-case basis. Any time you have a concern with something that you've purchased through Nordstrom, they will stand behind it. All you have to do is ask. I purchased a pair of denim jeans last year and after multiple wears and following the washing suggestions of the customer service department, I was still having issues with my hands discoloring from the dye used in the material. Nordstrom accepted the worn and washed denim months later for a full refund. And they were still willing to help me find something that worked for me. So if there's something you're not quite sure about, go ahead and purchase it and think about it once you can see it in person.

5. Shop Online

Shopping in store is a challenge for me since I live nearly 2 hours from the closest store, but even if you live close, I'd highly recommend shopping online. It's the quickest way to scroll through everything and not every store has each item included in the sale and sizes can be limited. If you're in a hurry to get it, order online and pick it up in store. That way you can get the best of both worlds.
