Friday Favorites - Beauty Edition

So this Friday I decided to do something a little different and share with you all some of my favorite beauty products. These items are items that I use on a nearly daily basis for a quick makeup look and are definitely a part of my makeup routine if I'm doing a full face. Some of these products I've used for a while and others are relatively new to my collection, but I'm enjoying them all the same. I'll apologize now for the length of this post, but hopefully it's all helpful! Enjoy!

Revlon Colorstay 24H Foundation in Normal/Dry

I just started using this foundation a couple of months ago at the recommendation of a fashion blogger and I'm so impressed! For those that know me well, you know that I am a makeup junkie and foundations are one of the essentials for me so I couldn't even begin to tell you how many I've bought over the years and that's not counting the samples. I've searched for years looking for a foundation that has medium-full coverage, a weightless feel, a natural finish that isn't too matte, is easy to blend out, and lasts a full day. Bonus points for being affordable. If this is what you're looking for in a foundation, I would highly recommend that you check this one out! To me, it seems pretty similar to the formulation of the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation. I wear shade 118 in that and am shade 250 in the Revlon. I also picked the normal/dry formula because it's a semi-matte rather than the full matte in the oil/combination.

Beauty Blender Sponge in Pink

The beauty blender will make such a difference in your makeup game. Before purchasing one, I'd tried a couple of different makeup sponges. While they did work, it's not quite the same as using a blender sponge. The beauty blender will soak up much more water and the quality of the sponge material is noticeable when blending out your makeup. I typically use this for applying my concealer and as a finishing touch for blending out my full face. The interesting part about the blender sponge is that you can actually use it to apply nearly all of your makeup. It works for liquid, cream, and powder consistencies and can be used to apply foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, etc. It's one of the most universal products in the cosmetic industry.

Morphe Brushes G6 Flat Buffer

This brush, the G6, by Morphe Brushes is so wonderful for applying foundation. The bristles are so dense that it gives the skin a nearly airbrushed effect when used. I have tried applying my foundations with other brushes and even the beauty blender, but always go back to this brush. The density makes it a bit more difficult to clean, but it also makes this brush the ideal tool for flawless foundation application. You also can't beat the price of Morphe products. This brush is only $13.99!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Bronze Light

This bronzing powder is so flattering! Hourglass products have photoluminescent technology that gives the skin a lit-from-within glow. The bronzing powder (the darker color) has many undertones so it works with multiple skin tones and the Ambient Lighting Powder (the lighter color) subtly swirled throughout give a beautiful sun-kissed glow. I use this product nearly every day on my cheeks, especially in the summer, to give a natural flush without looking to over the top.

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Soft Brown

For years I went without doing anything to my brows and just asked someone at a beauty store if they could show me what to do and I was instantly hooked. Naturally, I'm pretty lucky with my brows - they don't take any maintenance. However, any time I do even a simple makeup look, I fill in my brows. It has been such a game changer for me! Anastasia products are my favorite - the brow wiz and dipbrow pomade are the best! The brow wiz is great for quick and very natural looks. I just recently tried the pomade and really like it. It takes a little more practice than the brow wiz, but the results are incredible and it's waterproof! So if you have a day at the pool, lake, or beach, this is the perfect stuff for impeccable brows.

Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette

This palette is so incredible! I originally purchased the single champagne pop highlighter, but my little toddler decided it looked better in a thousand tiny pieces on the floor rather than one gorgeous compact. Conveniently this was just a couple of weeks before the release of the champagne collection face palette so I held out to purchase the full palette. The part of this palette that I really love are the two highlights. The blushes are very pretty and pigmented, but I don't tend to use as much blush in the summers (hey there hourglass bronzer!) and am excited to try them out as the season changes.  The original champagne pop highlighter (bottom left) is so unbelievably gorgeous and it's such a natural shade that blends so well with all kinds of makeup looks. Prosecco pop (bottom right) is a pure gold shade. It might sound intense, but it's so pretty on the skin. The new trend in cosmetics is nontouring, a.k.a. contouring with highlight instead of bronzer and these two shades are so perfect for this.

Thanks for reading this (way too long - sorry!) post, but I hope you've enjoyed it! Let me know in the comments or on social media if you like the product reviews and would like to see more and also if you'd like for me to do a makeup tutorial. I haven't ever recorded a video, but if you'd like to see one, I'll give it a try.

Have a fun, relaxing, lovely Labor Day weekend and I'll talk to you again soon!
